Master of Arts in Gender Studies




Introduction
The Master of Arts in Gender Studies is a two-year master programme in gender studies aimed at providing students with theoretical and practical tools for understanding and promoting processes of gender equality and justice. It is a two years modular intensive program which composed with 13 subjects including Field Work and Research. It requires an accomplishment of four modular periods on gender theories and practices. The program is finalized with a master thesis and includes a Community Based Participatory Research (3 credits) as well and research (6 credits). Both works can be accomplished either inside or outside Myanmar. The total credit of MAGS program is 42 credits.
Aims of MAGS program
Aims to educate students in Gender Studies by providing tools, methods, analytical skills to identify, to dig out the root causes of gender related issues, and to master the theoretical and practical approaches of Gender Studies.
Objectives of MAGS program
- To Train students identifying Problems and Issues related to Gender.
- To Educate students with Gender Concepts, Approaches, Theories, and Skills.
- To Equip the students with practical ways such as Gender Inclusive Reformation, and Gender Equality Transformation programs implementation, integration, researches, projects (Real Life Situations)

Note: All subjects have to be taken with no exception. Total of 42 credits must be attained to achieve the Master of Arts in Gender Studies.
