Doctor of Ministry

Doctor of Ministry Program is to provide advanced theological education for persons who hold the Master of Divinity or its equivalent and who are engaged in the practice, mentorship, servant leadership, and scholarship that draws on spiritual and missional formation in both the practice of ministry and in the minster.

D.Min Program is a joint degree program of MIT with the Centre Baptist Theological Seminary,Kansas City ,USA,since 2010.The Doctor of Ministry program is a graduate level study, requiring 30 credits: 24 credits of course work with comprehensive examination and 6 credits for dissertation. The program is a three-year course and can be extended up to five years.

 

PURPOSE OF THE D. MIN DEGREE

The purpose of the Doctor of Ministry degree (DMin) is to provide advanced, contextual theological education and formation for persons who hold the Master of Divinity degree and who are engaged in the practice of ministry. The DMin program will emphasize the integration of theological reflection and practice, mentorship, servant leadership, and scholarship that draws on spiritual and missional growth in both the practice of ministry and in the minister.

The DMin degree has five primary goals:

  1. To build upon the foundation of the MDiv degree and substantial experience in ministry
  2. To increase understanding of the nature, purpose, and practice of ministry
  3. To improve skills for analyzing ministry setting and engaging in effective ministry
  4. To enhance the reflective integration of knowledge and skills in the practice of ministry
  5. To augment the spiritual development of the ministry
