Master of Arts in Community Development Studies

With the aim of facilitating sustainable development and positive change in poor rural communities through application of skills and learning, Myanmar Institute of Theology introduced Community Development Studies Department in 2010.

Overall Goal: Consistent with the mission of the Institute, the goal of Community Development Studies Department at Myanmar Institute of Theology seek to prepare students with professional knowledge, values, and skills for community development practice by creating an environment that offers value oriented learning that emphasized sustainable development and positive change in poor rural communities.

Community Development Studies Department is the one of the Department of MIT’s Liberal Arts Studies Program. Steering Committee of the Community Development Studies is the major authorize committee of the program and their decisions and recommendations will be taking into accounts by Supervision Committee of the Liberal Arts Program. Steering Committee can post their recommendations to the Staff Council of MIT if needed. Curriculum Development Team and Purchasing Committee are working closely to be able to implement the program successfully. The following chart explains the overall monitoring structure of the Community Development Department.

Master of Arts in Community Development (MACD) is one of the Master Programs of Liberal Arts Program in MIT. The program is conbination of 3 semesters of fulltime coursework and 1 semester of research writing which cover 52 credits in total.
